Summit Online - EMEA

The Challenge

Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a diverse array of cloud-based products worldwide.  The team at AWS wanted to bring together the cloud community from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to connect, collaborate and learn. Looking for support to bring these traditionally in-person events into the virtual world, AWS partnered with Sleek to create a 2 day event made up of innovation day and builders day that would educate, engage and showcase AWS products and services. 

The Solution

Working within a tight 3-month timeframe, Sleek facilitated a semi-live virtual event experience with pre-recorded content, live Q&A sessions, and gamification elements.

Our in-house team fully managed the copywriting for speaker sessions in English, later translating them into French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, and Hebrew. From there all event creative assets were designed by our in-house creative team, including: sizzle reels, influencer teaser videos, event banner ads, logos, social media tiles, speaker images, and event branding edits based on platform and localisation needs.

All sessions included pre-recorded content, with Sleek coordinating global recording schedules for high-quality results. The team also managed the creation of a large spreadsheet of metadata which consisted of speaker bios, session descriptions, event notifications, events times and date in every language the event was presented in. This amounted to a substantial content upload created and managed by our in-house team. To assist with the promotion of the event, our team of experts managed the copywriting of all social media posts, website copy, and FAQ’s. 

The Result

The AWS Online Summit 2021 - EMEA was a huge success with over 30,000 attendees!

Wanting to add an extra engaging element to the platform, Sleek had the platform designed with a treasure hunt that all attendees could participate in to win a prize, again the treasure hunt was designed in all 8 languages!

To help with additional engagement features, attendees were able to build a personalised agenda suited to their interests for which Sleek then had a notifications element added to the platform where attendees were notified when event sessions were about to start that they were interested in.

Speakers took part in a live Q&A following each session which (or to) build a repour with attendees and further knowledge share on specific topics of interest.

The event remains on-demand now for 3 months to ensure that all content can be revisited but also for attendees who registered but were unable to attend.
