The Sleek Journal: November Edition

Hi there! Welcome to the November edition of the Sleek Journal. This is our digital inspiration board, where we share some of the fantastic things that excite us in the world of live experiences and events.

This month, we meet the darker evenings with some immersive light experiences and some unforgettable comfort food. There’s loads to be excited about.

And, if you’re excited enough that you’d like to explore some of these elements in your own events, let’s chat!

Meals on Rails: Immersive Dining on the Supperclub Tube

The Cosm Experience is a visual and audio experience designed to transport audiences into new worlds, blending reality and digital environments. It uses ultra-high resolution and Imagine stepping onto a London tube and ending up in 1960s Latin America. Thanks to the Supperclub Tube, it’s completely possible. Well, in a sense.

This dining experience takes place on a decommissioned 1967 underground carriage that has been repurposed to immerse diners in a new world of gourmet cuisine. Yes, we said gourmet.

While the tube itself might scream London’s swinging ‘60s, there’s no bangers and mash going on. Instead, diners are treated to a spectacular six-course meal that takes their taste buds on a trip from Mexico to Patagonia.

Everything from the lighting to the playlist is designed to perfectly complement the cuisine, making sure that anyone who steps on board alights with a particularly memorable experience in their pocket.

Yayoi Kusama at Victoria Miro, London: Making Light of Art

Earlier this year, we caught the Princess of Polka Dots’ work at the Tate during our offsite. And, it’s fair to say, we’re still dotty about it.

Recently, this legendary pop artist’s outstanding creations were on display at Victoria Miro Gallery in London. It showcased not only a collection of some vivid, dreamlike paintings, but also some exceptional displays that Yayoi Kusama has used to portray love through light.

Why are we especially in love with these, you ask? Because they show how a creative use of light and design can inspire intense emotions, and that’s a philosophy that’s at the heart of what we do in events.
